The most recent press release, "Increases in child labor violations, young workers’ injuries prompts enhanced outreach, strong enforcement by US Department of Labor," was submitted on July 29.

The U.S. Department of Labor published 101 releases the month before, marking a 28.7 percent decrease for the current month.

The Department provides billions in unemployment insurance, which peaked around 2011 though spending had declined before the pandemic. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, claimed the Department funds "ineffective and duplicative services" and overregulates the workplace.

The proposed budget provides a significant boost to the DOL’s funding from $12.5 billion to $14.2 billion, a 13.6% increase.
