FBI Announces Arrest Made in Connection with a Store Robbery in Miami

FBI Announces Arrest Made in Connection with a Store Robbery in Miami

The FBI announces the arrest on Nov. 17, 2016 of Vandel Coakley, 31, of Miami, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the armed robbery of a Metro PCS store on the 1800 block of NW 7th Street inMiami, Florida, on Oct. 30, 2016.

The arrest was made without incident this morning at the subject's residence in Miami.

Coakley is in federal custody and is facing federal charges under the Hobbs Act. His is expected to have his initial appearance in federal court in Miami.

The FBI and its South Florida Violent Crime Task Force are involved in this matter as part of an initiative to assist local law enforcement agencies in combating violent armed robberies.

The Miami Dade Police Department, City of Miami Police Department, ATF, the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
