Vehicle Pursuit in Las Cruces Results in Federal Charges

Zachary Stephen Reeder, 39, of Marana, Ariz., was arrested on a federal complaint charging him with assault on a federal task force officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Reeder is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces on Monday.

Reeder was arrested after a vehicular pursuit in Las Cruces by law enforcement investigating a report of a possibly armed and dangerous suspect in a stolen car Thursday night.

During the pursuit, the car allegedly rammed a vehicle driven by an FBI task force officer, who was not seriously injured.

No further details will be released until after Reeder’s court appearance.

The public is reminded that a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
