Man with White Cap, Possible Fake Goatee, Attempts Robbery of Albuquerque Bank

A slender man with a possible fake goatee and wearing a white baseball cap tried to rob a northeast Albuquerque bank Monday, August 7, 2017.

The incident occurred at BBVA Compass Bank, 7530 Montgomery Blvd. NE, at approximately 3:41 p.m.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, approximately 5'5" to 5'7" tall, with a slender build, dark hair, and a goatee that may have been a fake.

He wore sunglasses, a white baseball cap with a logo, a light-green long-sleeve shirt, and dark sweat pants with white stripes.

Witnesses said the robber presented a demand note to a teller, but left without getting any money.

The suspect was last seen walking south on Pennsylvania Street NE. He may have a limp.

Anyone with information about this attempted robbery is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300, or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (505) 843-STOP.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
