ALBANY, NEW YORK - Jaquan Walker, age 23, of Troy, New York, pled guilty yesterday to possessing and intending to distribute crack cocaine.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and James N. Hendricks, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Walker admitted that on Sept. 2, 2017, while in Troy, he possessed approximately 47 grams of crack cocaine, which he intended to distribute.
Walker faces at least 5 years and up to 40 years in prison, a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of at least 4 years, and a maximum $5 million fine when he is sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy on Dec. 10, 2018. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
This case was investigated by the FBI and the Troy Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia Giglio Suarez.
