WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - Justin Giesey, of Wheeling, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 24 months incarceration for possessing child pornography, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
Giesey, age 32, pled guilty to one count of “Possession of Child Pornography" in October 2018. Giesey admitted to having child pornography depicting a minor under the age of 12 in June 2017 in Ohio County.
This case is prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims. Assistant U.S. Attorney David J., Perri prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the West Virginia State Police, and the Wheeling Police Department investigated.
