FBI Media Update: Man Charged with Robbing Albuquerque Bank

FBI Media Update: Man Charged with Robbing Albuquerque Bank

The FBI Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) made a probable cause arrest of Frank Hermansen on a federal charge of bank robbery on Friday, July 10, 2020.

Hermansen, 63, of Albuquerque, is accused of the robbery on Thursday, July 9, 2020, of Bank of the West, located inside a Smith’s grocery store, at 6125 4th St. NW.

The Albuquerque Police Department assisted with this investigation.

An initial appearance has yet to be scheduled in federal court.

The public is reminded all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.

(The FBI does not release mugshots of defendants in custody).

The VCTF was created in 2019 with agents and officers from the FBI, New Mexico State Police, Albuquerque Police Department, and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and recently added representatives from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, New Mexico Corrections Department, and Santa Fe Adult Correctional Facility.
