Nicole Nelson-Jean, EM associate principal deputy assistant secretary for field operations, toured cleanup operations at the Portsmouth and Paducah sites and visited the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO), where she met management and received updates.
At the Portsmouth Site, Nelson-Jean viewed the recently completed X-326 uranium process building demolition, and work at the On-Site Waste Disposal Facility, along with other activities at the site.
Nelson-Jean wrapped up her trip at the Paducah Site, meeting with EM and contractor management. She received updates regarding deactivation and remediation from site contractors. Two points of interest during her tour of the Paducah Site included stops at the C-333 Process Building and the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride (DUF6) Plant.
