BLM Utah Seeks Comment on Environmental Assessment for August 2014 Oil and Gas Lease Sale

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah West Desert District is seeking public comment on two environmental assessments (EA) analyzing the BLM's proposal to offer a total of 66,673 acres comprised of 35 parcels at the August 2014 oil and gas lease sale. The Salt Lake Field Office proposes to offer 64,610 acres comprised of 33 parcels and the Fillmore Field Office proposes to offer 2,063 acres comprised of two parcels. The EAs analyzed 157 parcels covering 305,182 acres.Additional information about the proposed parcels is included in the EAs, which are now available for public review and comment. Decker Lake Blvd., West Valley City, Utah and hard copies of the Fillmore Field Office EA can be obtained at the BLM Fillmore Field Office, 95 East 500 North, Fillmore, Utah.The public review and comment period closes at 4:30 p.m. on April 21, 2014. Please note that the most useful comments are those that identify issues relevant to the proposed action or contain new technical or scientific information. Comments which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process.
