Northwest Resource Advisory Council to meet in Silt Feb. 19

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Bureau of Land Management’s Northwest Resource Advisory Council will meet Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Colorado River Valley Field Office, 2300 River Frontage Road in Silt.

The meeting runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public, with public comment periods related to items on the agenda scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Agenda items include briefings on multiple recent agency projects to include the Roan Settlement, Transwest Pipeline, and an orientation briefing regarding BLM land sales and land exchanges along with an update on vegetation treatments for area mule deer.

The Northwest Colorado RAC meets quarterly in northwestern Colorado. It is one of several citizen advisory councils to BLM Colorado. Its 15 members are appointed by the Secretary of the Interior and represent a broad range of public land interests, including environmental, local government, wild horse and burro, and commercial activity. The Northwest RAC advises the BLM Colorado Northwest District, which includes the Grand Junction, White River, Little Snake, Kremmling and Colorado River Valley BLM field offices.
