BLM Welcomes New Chief of Communications to the Nevada State Office

The Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office welcomes Stephen D. Clutter as chief of communications. He arrives from Phoenix, AZ, and is recently retired as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as director of public affairs for U.S. Air Force Central Command overseas. Prior assignments include commander of the Air Force News Agency and director of the Air Force Hollywood Liaison Office.Clutter has a master's degree in international relations from Troy University, a master's in national security & strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a bachelor's in communications from the University of Washington. He also worked several years as a newspaper reporter for the Seattle Times, specializing in government and politics.John F. Ruhs, BLM Nevada State Office Acting State Director spoke enthusiastically about his arrival. "Steve brings a wealth of public affairs and leadership experience to our agency. He is approachable in his communication style and brings a special gift for developing partnerships with all stakeholders. Please join me in welcoming Steve to the Nevada Bureau of Land Management."
