BLM Vernal Field Office Hosts John Jarvie Harvest Festival

VERNAL, UTAH-Nature has prepared the Jarvie Ranch for the Harvest Festival with a layer of snow on the mountains above Brown’s Park. Throughout the ranch, pine wreaths and boughs are being hung, supplies for crafts are being set out, games are being organized, musicians are tuning their instruments, and logs are being placed in the fire pit in preparation for the arrival of Harvest Festival visitors.

What: John Jarvie Harvest Festival

Where: Historic John Jarvie Ranch at Browns Park

When: Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Who: Public - everyone welcome - free!

Why: Experience turn-of-the century days gone by!

The public is invited to attend and participate in the Jarvie Ranch Harvest Festival. To get to The John Jarvie property from Vernal, Utah:

* ï‚· Go north on Hwy 191 for 55 miles

* ï‚· Travel east on a gravel/paved road for 22 miles, (two miles of up to 12 percent grade)

* ï‚· Follow Jarvie Ranch/Brown’s Park signs

To get to the John Jarvie property from Maybell, Colorado:

* ï‚· Go west on Hwy 318 for 70 miles of paved road and eight miles of gravel

* ï‚· Follow Jarvie Ranch/Brown’s Park signs
