The BLM Wyoming will partner with BraveHearts and the Mantle Ranch Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility to bring you “Operation Mustang" during Cheyenne Frontier Days being held July 22-31 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.Operation Mustang is part of the first annual Cheyenne Frontier Days’ Western Experience and will feature training demonstrations with 18 wild horses and 4 burros. All animals featured during the demonstrations will be available for adoption on Friday, July 29 at 5:00 p.m.Operation Mustang will be the largest adoption the BLM has held at Cheyenne Frontier Days and will showcase military veterans from BraveHearts training and preparing wild horses for adoption. Visitors will be able to witness the special bond created between the veterans and the horses they are working with at daily demonstrations from 10 a.m. - noon and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.The horse and burro adoption will be held on Friday, July 29 starting at 5 p.m. Any un-adopted animal at the event will be available for adoption through the Mantle facility. Any person wishing to adopt a wild horse or burro must fill out an application, be able to conform to BLM’s minimum adoption requirements, and have their application approved by BLM.BraveHearts is a non-profit organization that provides equine-assisted activities and therapies to children, adults, and military veterans and their families.The Mantle Ranch Adoption and Training Facility has been a contract wild horse training facility for the BLM since 1998 and have over 26 years of professional experience.
