Las Vegas - Southern Nevada wildland fire agencies (Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, Clark County, City of North Las Vegas and Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District) are seeking applications for a newly created seasonal on-call handcrew.
The Southern Nevada Handcrew will be an Initial Attack Type 2 Handcrew of on-call firefighters who will work locally and across the nation to suppress wildland fires as well as assist with project work, logistical support and training.
Those interested in applying should visit www.lvicc.us and select Employment on the lower right section of the page. Applications will be accepted until March 20, but best consideration will be gained for materials submitted prior to that date.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid passport or birth certificate and a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old and pass a work capacity test (pack test) on the first day. Those who are hired will be paid for fire school and will then be on-call for wildland fire suppression from April through October.
