CODY, Wyo. - The Bureau of Land Management Cody Field Office requests input on the analysis of a proposed bentonite mining project located near Greybull, Wyoming, in Big Horn County.
Wyo-Ben, Inc., plans to expand its current mining operations by 44 acres on BLM-managed federal land located 10 miles north of Greybull.
The proposed expansion would provide an estimated 50,000 tons of bentonite from public lands over the life of the project and would continue to employ approximately 10 mine employees, 20 mill employees and additional subcontractors.
As part of its multiple use mission, the BLM is facilitating this development of resources on public lands by analyzing the impacts of the proposed project. The environmental assessment is available for public review and comment online at http://bit.ly/Wyo-Ben_172_173_plan. The plan of operations modification submitted by Wyo-Ben is available for review at the Cody Field Office, 1002 Blackburn Street in Cody.
