BLM Campbell Creek Science Center program July 13 celebrates native plants and noted plant expert, Verna Pratt

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Join the BLM Campbell Creek Science Center and Alaska Native Plant Society on Thursday, July 13 at 6:00 pm for an evening celebrating native plants and the life of Verna Pratt.

Long-time volunteer and author of Field Guide to Alaskan Wildflowers, the late Verna Pratt devoted countless hours creating and tending the Science Center’s gardens and to teaching people about native plants of Alaska.

This special program begins at 6:00 p.m. with walks through the gardens led by volunteers from the Alaska Native Plant Society. At 7:00 p.m. rock gardener and plant collector Dr. Anthony Reznicek will give a talk on plant diversity and evolution.
