Salem, Ore. - Volunteers are invited to join the Bureau of Land Management for a National Public Lands Day event at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area on Saturday, September 30. The all-ages event will be one of many offered across the country that day to celebrate service in our nation’s treasured public lands. As stewards, the BLM manages public lands for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting conservation as we pursue our multiple-use mission.

Entrance fees will be waived, and special activities and educational presentations will be available throughout the park. Service projects will be offered from 11:00am to 3:00pm along various trails and at the Lighthouse Keeper’s Garden. Lighthouse Tours will also be offered hourly between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Sign-ups for these 45 minute programs will start at 10:00am in the Interpretive Center, and are first come, first serve.

Volunteers should meet at the Interpretive Center, and be sure to wear outdoor-appropriate clothing and footwear.
