BLM seeks comments on analysis of northern New Mexico oil and gas lease parcels

SANTA FE, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management is seeking input on the analysis of 26 parcels in northern New Mexico for the March 2018 competitive oil and gas lease sale. The parcels are located in Rio Arriba, Sandoval, and San Juan counties.

The draft environmental assessment analyzes a range of alternatives for the sale, and is available for review at https://www.blm.gov/programs/energy-and-minerals/oil-and-gas/leasing/regional-lease-sales/new-mexico. Comments will be accepted through Oct. 20.

Public comments are an important component of the National Environmental Policy Act process and help identify issues, concerns, and mitigation opportunities not covered in the EA.
