National Public Lands Day at Rice Creek

ROSEBURG, Ore. - On Thursday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will host a National Public Lands Day cleanup of the Rice Creek area six miles southwest of Dillard, Ore. As stewards, the BLM manages public lands for the benefit of current and future generations, supporting conservation as we pursue our multiple-use mission.

The event meeting location is at the Dillard Store & Deli in the large parking area adjacent to the store. The store location is Old Highway 99 S. Dillard, Ore. From this location, participants will travel to the Rice Creek area and park along BLM Road 29-7-25.0 closer to the cleanup sites.

The Bureau of Land Management will provide gloves, trash grabbers, trash bags, water and each participant will receive lunch and a commemorative t-shirt. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen. Long sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended. The event will end with lunch at approximately 12:30 p.m.

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands and brings together hundreds of thousands of individual and organizational volunteers to help restore America's public lands.
