KINGMAN, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking information on an incident involving a wild burro, that left it injured, and resulted in its death, near Oatman.
BLM law enforcement responded to a report on New Year’s Day, of an injured wild burro south of Oatman. The responding officer encountered a burro that had sustained serious injuries. Showing poor or hopeless prognosis for recovery from the injuries, the burro was humanely euthanized. The incident is under investigation.

Wild burros are protected from harassment or killing by the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, as amended. If you encounter an injured wild burro and suspect foul-play or human involvement in the injuries contact the local BLM office.
