Haystack Mountain OHV Area closes temporarily for national motorcycle trials event

ROSWELL, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management’s Haystack Mountain Off-Highway Vehicle Area will be closed from 1 p.m. on April 18, to 5 p.m. on April 23 for an American Motorcycle Association National Trials event. Haystack Mountain OHV Area is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Roswell, on U.S. Highway 70.

The BLM has issued event staff organizers an exclusive use special recreation permit for the event. The temporary closure is for public safety during the event. The trials promoter has established spectator areas throughout the recreation area for attendees.

A map of the trials course is available at the BLM Roswell Field Office at 2909 West 2nd St., Roswell, NM.
