CODY, Wyoming - The Powerline fire, located in Oregon Basin seven miles southeast of Cody, Wyoming, was initially reported at 6;00pm on Sunday, August 12th. The fire is approximately 2,600 acres burning in sage and grass. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Resources from the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and Park County responded Sunday night. Today, there are two Single Engine Air Tankers, one Air Attack Platform, and seven fire engines currently working the fire.
The Powerline Fire did receive good recovery overnight with increased relative humidities and decreased temperatures. The fire does remain active today as slightly cooler temperatures and higher relative humidity are forecast.
