BLM lifts emergency closure at Knoxville Recreation Area

UKIAH, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management has lifted an emergency closure order at the Knoxville Management Area in Napa County. The access restrictions were in place because of dangers posed by the Snell Fire.

Areas re-opened to public access include trails in the Knoxville Off-Highway-Vehicle Recreation Area, the Northside Staging Area and the Hunting Creek Campground.

The fire near Butts Canyon and Snell Valley roads is now 85 percent contained within fire lines. It has burned about 2,490 acres.
