CASPER, Wyo. - The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) announces the opening of a new temporary exhibit titled “That’s the Way We Roll!" The exhibit is open to the public through March 22.
This exhibit is the creation of several youth from Casper who participated in a pioneer trail trek hosted by NHTIC staff to connect kids to public lands and to America’s cultural and natural history. The youth were members of the NHTIC Student Docent Program that assists with tours and outreach for the NHTIC. During this three-day, two-night journey, participants on the trail trek experienced the pioneer lifestyle, raised tipis, and witnessed the beauty of Wyoming landscapes. “Being able to share these moments and learn about the pioneers in a more informal way is just an amazing opportunity for so many of these youth. We are fortunate to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience," said BLM interpreter Jason Vlcan.
A special tree fort built by the youth participants is included in the exhibit and allows visitors an opportunity to climb in and out. “Once again the students did everything asked of them! The exhibit they have put together is a collaboration of beautiful photographs, journals and stories. You will not want to miss this opportunity to see what they have accomplished," said BLM interpreter Stacey Moore.

The NHTIC is free and current hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
