(BUTTE, Mont.) - The Bureau of Land Management will close some recreation sites near Helena for two days in May while workers spray for noxious and invasive weeds in the area.
The BLM’s Butte Field Office will close developed campgrounds at Holter Lake (Holter Lake Campgroun, Holter Dam, Log Gulch and Departure Point) on May 7; and Hauser Lake (Devil’s Elbow, Clark’s Bay, and White Sandy) on May 13 as workers conduct the spraying operations.
“Our campgrounds will close for a very short period of time in order to ensure the public is safe, first and foremost, but also to all ow the treatment to take full effect on our work against invasive species," said Scott Haight, Butte Field Manager. “Between the weather and the start of our busy season at the recreation sites, we determined this was the best time to spray the area."
