(BILLINGS, Mont.) - A new plan for travel on the portion of the Pryor Mountains managed by the Bureau of Land Management has been released.
“This travel management plan provides a logical and sustainable travel and transportation network that addresses access and recreation while protecting sensitive natural and cultural resources," said Billings Field Office Manager David Lefevre.
The environmental assessment addresses issues such as route designations, maintenance, public information, implementation, enforcement, monitoring and adaptive management based on public input. Lefevre said the final plan best meets management objectives --to protect wilderness values, cultural and paleontological resources, visuals, special status plants, soils, wild horses and habitat-- as written in the 2015 Resource Management Plan.
The final Pryor Mountain Travel Management Plan Environmental Assessment, Finding of No Significant Impact, Decision Record and relevant documents are available on the BLM e-Planning project website at https://eplanning.blm.gov. Search using the NEPA number: DOI-BLM-MT-C010-2019-0029-EA.
