ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Bureau of Land Management New Mexico has announced the selection of Kymm Gresset as Rio Puerco Field Manager. Gresset was sworn into her position by the acting BLM New Mexico State Director Melanie Barnes during a ceremony held on June 11.
As the BLM Rio Puerco Field Manager, Gresset will oversee the multiple uses of public lands encompassing approximately 1 million acres and over 3.6 million mineral estate acres dispersed across Sandoval, Bernalillo, Valencia, Torrance, Cibola, and portions of McKinley counties.
“I feel very grateful to be working with the staff and managers of the Rio Puerco Field Office again, and with the many people and partners involved in public land management in this area. Today, for me, is about reaffirming my commitments to public lands and public service," Gresset said.
A native of Lake Andes, S.D., Gresset comes to Albuquerque from Cottonwood, ID, where she was an Assistant Field Manager. She has 15 years of natural resource management experience with the BLM and the U.S. Geological Survey in Virginia, Colorado, Montana and Idaho.
When not at the office, Gresset enjoys exploring public lands with her fiancée Stephen and daughter Cora, as well as playing volleyball. She is also an aspiring golfer.
"Kymm previously served in an acting capacity as the BLM Rio Puerco Field manager and we are pleased to have attracted Kymm to join our BLM New Mexico Team permanently," stated BLM acting State Director Melanie Barnes. "Kymm’s diverse background and tenacious work ethic will provide her staff and the agency with more functional tools to better manage public lands and serve the public."
