Road closure in Garfield County due to wildfire

(MILES CITY, Mont.) - Due to increased fire activity, the Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, has closed the entire Devils Creek Road due to the Devils Creek fire in Montana’s Garfield County.

As of this Monday morning, the Type 3, lightning-caused Devils Creek fire continues to burn toward the Charles M. Russell Wildlife Refuge and Fort Peck Lake, approximately 36 miles northwest of Jordan, MT. The fire is estimated at 11,000 acres and is 0% contained. Federal and county resources are on scene.

Recreationists are advised to stay clear of the area and as to not obstruct active fire operations.
