EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management Mother Lode Field Office is issuing a temporary emergency closure of the Rocky Bar Road area about five miles west of Grizzly Flats in El Dorado County due to wildland fire hazards. The area was burned during the Caldor Fire and there are hazards to public health and safety.
The closed area includes BLM-managed public lands north of Grizzly Flats Road, south of Slug Gulch Road, west of the El Dorado National Forest Boundary and east of Ant Hill Road, all near the Middle Fork, Consumnes River. The closure includes Rocky Bar Road where it crosses BLM-managed lands.
“There is a danger of mudslides, falling trees and rolling rocks, and members of the public must stay out of the area for their own safety," said Elizabeth Meyer-Shields, manager of the BLM Mother Lode Field Office. “This emergency closure will be in effect until further notice."
