CASPER, Wyo. - The National Historic Trails Interpretive Center is inviting young historians to participate in free interactive youth programs throughout the winter.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, the Trails Center’s Hands-on History Club winter lineup will kick off with a lesson on creating holiday Victorian papercrafts. Trails Center interpreters will recount stories of holiday celebrations on the plains while students craft their own paper gifts with homemade glue.
History Club is intended for children ages seven through eleven; however, all are welcome. Lessons are held monthly from 10-11 a.m. on the following Saturdays this winter:
* December 11: Holiday Victorian Papercrafts
* January 22: Mapping the Trails
* February 19: Would you survive the Oregon Trail game?
* March 12: Leaving a mark on the Oregon Trail
Students must be accompanied by a chaperone. History Club is free, and while not required, reservations are appreciated and strongly encouraged.
