The most recent release, "Biden-Harris Administration Releases Draft Guidance on New Tribal Orphaned Well Program," was submitted on Aug. 31.
The Department of Interior published 17 the month before, marking a 64.7 percent increase for the current month.
The Department oversees more than 500 million acres of land. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the department has contributed to a growing water crisis and holds many lands which could be better managed.
Funding for the Department's efforts to secure more land increased 13 percent from 2017 to 2021, totaling $15.4 billion by 2021.
