The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces that Grenada Lake will host its 2022 Veterans Deer Hunt at the Grenada Lake Dam Area on Nov. 19-21.
Registration begins Sept. 21 and closes Oct. 5. To register for the hunt, applicants should email a copy of their DD-214 form, driver’s license, current address and phone number to Natural Resources Specialist Will Clark at will.clark@usace.army.mil. Any missing or false information will result in a rejection of the application.
Hunters chosen to participate must abide by all USACE and Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks rules and regulations. Those selected to participate in the hunt will be notified by phone or email. Participants may use weapon of choice in accordance with MDWFP state regulations. All federal and state small game regulations will be enforced.
The primary purpose of the hunt is to show appreciation for veterans who made sacrifices for our country. The hunt also helps manage the deer herd to prevent habitat degradation in overpopulated areas.
