WHY: September is National Preparedness Month, an opportunity to remind Chicagoland residents and all Americans about the importance of knowing what to do before disaster strikes, and taking the steps to protect themselves, their loved ones and their legacy – so it may be passed down to future generations.
All individuals are invited to attend this free event. Visitors will receive disaster readiness information and tips from FEMA, experience the fun of Safety Town while learning important steps to stay safe around your neighborhood, and even have the chance to take part in hands-only CPR training through the American Red Cross.
