An Arizona man was recently sentenced to more than 20 years in prison on child pornography charges.
Dale Lenz, 30, of Phoenix, was arrested Jan. 25 after Homeland Security Investigations and Apache Junction Police Department executed a search warrant at his home, according to a Sept. 23 U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement news release. A forensic examination of his device turned up hundreds of files containing child sexual abuse material.
“For the next 20 years, this criminal will wake-up to the clamoring noise of his jail cell doors as he is left to think about his grotesque actions involving child pornography,” Special Agent in Charge for HSI Phoenix Scott Brown said in the release. “HSI and our law enforcement partners are committed to removing dangerous predators from our streets. I want to thank all of those involved in this case that resulted in such a lengthy sentence.”
Lenz was initially detained on two counts of sexually exploiting a minor, and he entered a guilty plea to both charges July 15, the release reported. Pinal County Superior Court handed out the 264-month term in light of the seriousness of the photographs that were obtained and the victims' ages.
