Petrified Forest, AZ - April 3, 2006, kicks-off the beginning of the Petrified Forest National Park’s Artist-in-Residence Program. This program will provide the opportunity for selected artists to pursue their particular art form in the dynamic setting of Petrified Forest National Park. The park has scheduled one to four artists per month from April through October to participate in the program. The goal of the program is to further both the artists’ and public’s understanding of the significance of the park. In addition to creating artwork, the artists will provide a positive learning and interpretive experience for park visitors regarding the park as inspiration for artistic endeavors. The park invites visitors to join the artists for their demonstrations and programs. For more information on the artists’ schedule and program contact Museum Curator, Scott Williams at (928) 524-6228 x240.
