Apparent Suicide at Pictured Rocks NL

(Munising, Michigan) On the evening of Saturday, Oct. 28, Michigan State Police received a report from two hikers that had discovered a body while hiking in the Trappers Lake backcountry area of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. National Park Service rangers were notified and a joint investigation began.

Michigan State Police troopers and National Park Service rangers hiked into the remote site near Trappers Lake where they found a make-shift camp set up approximately 100 yards off the trail. The body of Daniel Lee Guyer, a 42 year old male from Olivet, Michigan, was found near the camp, a victim of an apparent suicide. The death remains under investigation.
