Remembering Gerald R. Ford

Eighteen areas joined the National Park Service during Mr. Ford’s presidency. Ninety Six National Historic Site was added to the National Park Service on Aug. 19, 1976.

On Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 as the Nation mourns the loss of President Ford, Federal agencies will be closed, but Ninety Six National Historic Site will remain open.

Come celebrate President Ford’s memory by experiencing a National Park that he helped to create.
