Name Released of Probable Suicide Victim in Denali National Park and Preserve

The identification of the young man who died as the result of what appears to be suicide has been released, as his family members have been notified. Alexey Sergeyevich Ignatov, 21, of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia, was employed as a seasonal worker at the Denali Bluffs Hotel, which is located outside of the park near the entrance to the Denali Park Road. He was last seen alive sometime on Saturday, June 30. His body was discovered on the evening of Monday, July 2, hanging from the railroad trestle above Riley Creek.

All indications are that the death is a suicide, but the investigation is continuing.
