Superintendent Gerard Baker has announced the summer schedule for Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
Beginning May 24, 2008, the Memorial’s Lincoln Borglum Museum and the Information Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The evening program and lighting ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. from May 24 to August 14 and then at 8:00 p.m. from August 15 through September 30. Daily ranger-led interpretive programs will begin on Saturday, May 24. The historic Sculptor’s Studio will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from May 15 to May 23 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from May 24 through August 15. All dates and times are subject to change.
Presidential Parking Inc. will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from May 1 to May 8. From May 9 through May 23, the parking garage will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from May 24 to Aug. 14, the garage will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
The hours for the Xanterra Dining Room and Gift Shop will be as follows:
May 17 - May 23 Gift Shop 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Carvers Café 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
May 24 - August 14 Gift Shop 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Carvers Café 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Ice Cream 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
August 15 - August 31 Gift Shop 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Carvers Café 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Ice Cream 11:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
