The National Park Service (NPS) has released the master plan and environmental assessment for its facilities located in Boulder City, Nev. The document covers future development plans for the Lake Mead National Recreation Area downtown Boulder City headquarters, and its warehouse facility located off US Highway 93. The public is invited to comment on the plan through Oct. 21, 2008.
In May 2006, Lake Mead National Recreation Area contracted with an architectural firm to develop a Space Utilization and Value Analysis Study for the headquarters and warehouse sites. The study includes alternatives that consider continued use of the headquarters and warehouse sites or complete consolidation of all park service programs at the warehouse site. The environmental assessment analyzes the context, duration, and intensity of the impacts related to the different options explored in the study.

Comments on the environmental assessment may be submitted in writing by mail or electronically through the PEPC website and must be received by Oct. 21, 2008.
