Checking Park Entry Passes

Checking Park Entry Passes

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on May 1, 2009. It is reproduced in full below.

(Corpus Christi, Texas)- Superintendent, Joe Escoto, announced today, that effective immediately and until further notice, park visitors will have their passes scrutinized in order to insure, that they are up to date and in compliance with fee standards. The park must also comply with Director's Order 22: Recreation Fees. “We will be scrutinizing all park passes, this includes the Padre Island National Seashore Pass ( PAIS Pass), the Senior Access and Access Passes".

To make it possible for park staff to check each pass, traffic entering the park will be reduced to one lane when the gate is staffed with only one person. The second lane will be opened when traffic is heavy and additional staff is available. If you have any questions about park pass requirements please contact our Chief Ranger, Deanna “DeDe" Mladucky at 361-949-9238 ext. 23 or by e-mail at: Deanna_Mlducky@nps.gov

To help avoid delays at the park gate, please make sure your entrance pass is valid. Please feel free to visit the following National Park Service Fee site for more information: https://www.nps.gov/fees_passes.htm.
