Redwood National and State Parks’ Superintendents Jeff Bomke and
Steve Chaney announced today that day use fees into the three state park units within Redwood National and State Parks will be waived this weekend. As part of a larger National Park Service effort where entrance fees will be waived throughout the National Park System for three weekends this summer, Redwood National and State Parks will waive the day use entry fee into Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast, and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks. In addition to this June 20-21 weekend, entrance fees at Redwood National and State Parks and throughout the National Park System will also be waived on two additional weekends this summer, July 18-19, and August 15-16. Other fees, such as campground use fees, will still apply.
Often mentioned as “America’s Best Idea", national parks this summer get even better as they are free to enter on these three weekends. Recognizing tough economic times call for economical fun, you can’t beat America’s 391 national parks for family time, fresh air, and opportunities to explore and learn about our great country. This Father’s Day weekend would be a good time to grab dad, family and friends, and make Redwood National and State Parks a lifelong memory.
