Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent George Price has announced that the next meeting of the Dune Shack Subcommittee of the Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the library of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown.
The subcommittee’s task is to develop a set of recommendations to the Cape Cod National Seashore’s Advisory Commission on the establishment of a Dune Shack District Preservation and Use Plan/Environmental Assessment. The dune shack historic district is located in the national seashore along the backshore of Provincetown and Truro. This meeting will include discussions on developing a vision of use; the subcommittee work plan; current management mechanisms for the dune shacks; and new technology and building materials. A short public comment period will be provided.
