LAS VEGAS - The National Park Service has awarded Scottsdale, Ariz. based Forever Resorts, LLC a three-year temporary contract to operate concessions at Echo Bay. Beginning today, Forever Resorts assumes management from Seven Crown Resorts, which operated the area for 38 years.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to provide quality visitor services at Echo Bay," says Darla Cook, Forever Resorts vice president of public and media relations.
Most changes will be cosmetic. The operation’s name will change from Echo Bay Resort to Echo Bay Marina. Houseboat rentals will be discontinued; however small boat rentals such as ski and patio boats will continue to be offered. The RV Park, trailer village, marina, and motel will operate as before.
Houseboat rentals are available at Forever Resorts’ other locations on Lake Mead at Callville Bay and Temple Bar.
“Visitors should see a seamless transition. We’re fortunate that Forever Resorts brings with them extensive marina and resort experience," said Kris Kirby, commercial services division chief for Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
According to Kirby the temporary contract will allow visitor services to continue while the agency completes a long-term contract prospectus for Echo Bay. The prospectus is expected to be released for open bidding by the end of the year. It will be advertised on the Federal Business Opportunities web site at http://www.fbo.gov.
Echo Bay is Forever Resorts’ sixth concession at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The company operates Callville Bay Marina, Temple Bar Marina, Cottonwood Cove Marina, Lake Mead RV Village, and Black Canyon/Willow Beach Adventures under contract with National Park Service.
