Seashore to Close in Advance of Hurricane Earl

Harkers Island, NC - Superintendent Russel J. Wilson announced that the Cape Lookout National Seashore staff has implemented its hurricane evacuation plan due to the approach of Hurricane Earl.

A mandatory evacuation of all visitors from the seashore islands will be implemented for this hurricane. The park will be closed to all visitors and services beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, until further notice.
