Park management reminds everyone that Voyageurs National Park is open and ready for visitors to enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, boat tours, and north canoe voyages, to name a few.
The Kabetogama Lake and Rainy Lake visitor centers are open daily from 9:00am - 5:00pm through Sept. 25, 2011. The Ash River visitor center is open daily from 9:00am - 5:00pm through Aug. 21, 2011 and then Thursday-Sunday through Sept. 25, 2011. Each visitor center has a boat launch and parking areas.
Reservations for interpretive boat tours for Rainy Lake or Kabetogama/Namakan Lake can be made at www.recreation.gov. Select the "Tours" tab at the top of the page.
Reservations for the park's two group campsites can be made at www.recreation.gov. Select the "Camping" tab at the top of the page. All other camping simply requires a free overnight permit that you can complete at a visitor center or a boat launch.
Visitors can also stay at resorts, hotels, and motels in the park's gateway communities of Ash River, Crane Lake, International Falls, Kabetogama, and Orr and visit the park during the day. Houseboat rentals are another way to visit the park.
