Plan to go a little batty and have a lot of fun when attending a special free evening program at Mill Creek Campground Amphitheater on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Redwood National and State Parks rangers will be presenting a campfire program on those mysterious and fascinating acrobats of the night-bats-followed by a 30-minute night walk to discover other wonders of the night.

Redwood Parks Association will be providing hot cider, but participants should bring their own mugs. Participants should also bring flashlights and dress appropriately for the weather and cool of the evening.

Mill Creek Campground is located in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. The turn-off for the campground is located along U.S. 101 just six miles (or about ten minutes) south of Crescent City, California.

Redwood Parks Association (RPA) is a non-profit cooperating association to Redwood National and State Parks, California State Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service supporting the education, recreation and preservation mission of these agencies.

This free program is open to people of all ages and is a great opportunity to learn more about the some of the truly amazing denizens of the dark.
