Voyageurs National Park Presents Beavers:Engineers of the Forest

Love them or leave them, beavers make their mark on the landscape. Much like humans, beavers alter the environment drastically to suit their needs. Their dams, canals, and tree cutting activities change the land in many ways. Prized for their fur, beavers were also responsible for much of the European expansion into North America.

Please join Park Biologist Bill Severud at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from2:00to 3:00 pm and learn how beavers influence our lives and the park. Participants will also learn about the beaver research park biologists have been conducting over the last 5 years.

This program is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association. No fee or registration is required to attend.
