CALLVILLE BAY ACCESS ROAD CLOSED AFTER FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Callville Bay Access Road at Lake Mead National Recreation Area is temporarily closed due to a fatal motorcycle accident.
At 9:19 a.m. Sept. 23, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received an emergency call reporting a motorcycle down near mile marker 3.
National Park Service Rangers from the Lake Mead District responded and found a 22-year-old male unresponsive 75 feet off the road down an embankment.
Rangers conducted CPR for 40 minutes before a Community Ambulance paramedic pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports indicate speed as a contributing factor. The National Park Service Rangers are handling the accident investigation with the assistance of the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The identity of the driver will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
