National Park Service Issues Finding of No Significant Impact on Cowles Bog Wetland Restoration

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Preferred Alternative in the Environmental Assessment of the"Restoration of Cowles Bog Wetland Complex's Lake Plain Wet-Mesic Prairie for Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore". The FONSI and the NPS's response to public comments can be found online at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/indu.

The restoration project includes vegetation management and hydrological modifications aimed at restoring the Cowles Bog wetland complex. Project work described in the Environmental Assessment will begin immediately.
